The AWS Solution Architect Professional (SAP-C02) exam is designed to measure a candidate's knowledge and skills needed to design and deploy cloud-based solutions. The exam covers topics such as architecture & design, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, migration, security, and cost control. The SAP-C02 exam has 75 multiple choice and multiple response questions that must be completed within 180 minutes.

Updated Content - Similar to the previous exam, but with some new services

The updated SAP-C02 exam guide makes reference to some of the latest services and newer features within older services that were not covered on the prior exam. These include the AWS Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning services.

Domains Change - Not very much

The Organizational Complexity Domain from the SAP-C01 exam has grown in size from 12.5% to 26% on the new exam, while Designing for New Solutions and Continuous Improvement for Existing Solutions have both remained unchanged. While these changes are slight, they do reflect a greater emphasis on architecting in multi-account environments.

Increasing Hybrid Networking and Workloads

The SAP-C02 exam continues to focus on the broader concepts of designing hybrid architectures using key AWS technologies, such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Direct Connect, Amazon VPN, and Amazon Cloud Formation templates, along with a continuous integration and deployment process. In many cases, the exam will ask you to identify the appropriate service or set of services you need to migrate a specific workload.
