Group lauds IPMAN for resolving crisis causing fuel scarcity in S/East

A socio-political group, Ndigbo United Forum (NUF) has applauded the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) for its quick resolution of the impasse that caused fuel scarcity in the southeast region.

DAILY POST recalls that fuel hike and scarcity hit states of the southeast following a strike by the marketers over the alleged refusal of the Imo State Government to compensate a colleague whose filling station was demolished in Orlu by the past Rochas Okorocha’s administration.

However, in a press release signed by its Board of Trustees Chairman, Chief Chinedu Mba, and made available to DAILY POST on Monday, NUF expressed enthusiasm that fuel scarcity and hike in price are gradually normalizing, as the crushing pain suffered by the people in the last one month has been lifted.

According to the Igbo group in the release which partly stated, “We are grateful with the timely response of IPMAN on our demand for the immediate resolution of the impasse that resulted to Fuel Scarcity across South East region.

“NUF is happy with the positive result we are receiving. The fuel scarcity, the hike in price, etc, have been resolved. Things have normalized. Our people are now happy that the crushing pain has been lifted.

“We thank IPMAN, and also pledge to be of future support in areas that could be of common interests. We intend to partner with them in areas that will see to a smoother running of their business activities in South East and beyond. For the fact that they heeded our call, we are grateful.

“We also appeal and advise that measures be taken to ensure that such incident never repeats itself anywhere in Nigeria, but particularly southeast”.
