WoW Classic's Molten Core and Blackwing Lairs Hold A Lot Of Lore
Some two centuries before when the

He experimented with other types of dragons with the aim to develop the perfect weapon, and he was able to create a number of creatures swarming around his fortress Blackwing Lair. Players fought these dragon-spawns that were mutant and eventually faced The Lord of Blackrock himself. Nefarian could not have imagined that mortals could pose a threat to him, but he was proven right and was eventually slain in WoW: Classic's Blackwing Lair raid.
